LAHORE: The Punjab government has allowed flour mills to purchase wheat without any permit from anywhere in the province.

The decision was taken in a meeting between Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Chief Secretary Jawad Rafiq and a delegation of flour millers here on Tuesday.

As per the decision, the millers, who have so far bought 1.2 million tonnes of wheat, will be bound to inform the relevant district food office about their procured grain and will ensure supply of flour at lower rates, says a press release issued late on Tuesday evening.
