Sheikhupura nazim joins relief steps

SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 23: District Nazim Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharqpuri on Sunday launched a campaign to collect relief goods, including blanket, quilts, tents and cash, from citizens for earthquake-hit people.

Accompanied by district administration officials, elected representatives and journalists, the district nazim visited various localities and markets to motivate the people to donate maximum for the quake victims.

Responding generously, the people donated Rs0.5 million in cash, besides all kinds of goods and kitchen items which were dispatched on four trucks to the affected areas on Sunday evening.

The district nazim along with media advisor Mian Ghulam Rasool Shahzad Sharqpuri also visited the medicine market where medical store owners donated medicines and vaccines worth thousands of rupees.
