Lawless city

Published May 31, 2021

KARACHI is the largest and the most populous city of Pakistan, but it seems like it is the most lawless. The traffic police in many parts of the city are involved in corruption. Recently, I saw an incident in which a bike rider, who was travelling with his family, was stopped by the traffic police, and despite having all the legal documents he was not allowed to go until he gave Rs1,000 in bribe to the traffic sergeant.

The authorities should take strict action against the corrupt elements in traffic police and take them to task.
