ISLAMABAD: Six people lost their battle against Covid-19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi district on Monday while 100 people were found infected. The positivity rate in the capital was recorded at 2.1pc.
Officials of the capital administration said all three deaths were reported in the age group of 60-69. Two males and one female were among the deceased, they added.
Two of them were residents of Alipur and Chirrah, while the address of one deceased is not known, they said.
During the last 24 hours 3,636 tests were conducted out of which results of 42 males and 37 females came back positive. As many as 25 cases were reported in the age group of 30-39 followed by 10 each in 20-29, 40-49, nine each in 50-59, 60-69, eight in 10-19, five in 0-9 and three in 70-79.
Likewise, seven cases were reported from I-8, followed by six from Tarlai, five each from Bhara Kahu, G-7 and F-10, four each from G-9, G-10, Khanna and G-13, three each from Lohi Bher and G-14, two each from G-11, I-10, Rawat and F-7 and one each from G-6, Alipur, Sohan, F-8, F-6, Koral, Rawal Town, Chirrah, Kirpa, Sihala, D-17, Tarnol, G-12, H-11 and F-13.
Rawalpindi
Three people died of Covid-19 in Rawalpindi district on Monday and 21 tested positive as 493 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering during the last 24 hours.
The deceased were identified as Yasin Sultan, 68, resident of Westridge-III, who was brought to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology on May 19, Khursheed Fatima, 78, resident of Kamalabad Bakra Mandi, brought to RIU on May 22 and Zamarud Khan, 60, resident of Chak Beli Khan Road, brought to RIU on May 28.
In Rawalpindi district, there are 576 active patients. As many as 105 patients are in hospitals including 38 who arrived from other districts and 471 are home isolated. As many as 720 patients are waiting for results of their Covid-19 serology.
Out of the new patients, 11 are from the garrison city including three from cantonment and four patients each arrived from Potohar Town and Rawal Town. From other parts of the district, five patients arrived from Taxila, one patient each from Kahuta and Kallar Syedan. Two patients were brought from Attock and one patient from AJK.
As many as 24 patients have been admitted in Holy Family Hospital, 18 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 35 in RIU, 24 in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), three patients at Bilal Hospital and one patient at Hearts International Hospital.
There are five patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 59 are on oxygen support and 41 are stable.
