TAXILA: Attock police on Monday busted two gangs of car-lifters and another gang of robbers and also recovered stolen vehicles, weapons and other items.

Addressing a press conference at Attock Saddar police station, Sub Divisional Police Officer Saddar circle ASP Jawaad Ishaq said that two people booked Zahirullah’s car from Peshawar for Attock and later snatched it from him at gunpoint near Ghazi Barotha water channel.

He said police later traced both suspects and recovered the vehicle.

The ASP said another man booked Mohammad Sadeeq’s car from Motorway Chowk Islamabad for Akhori.

After reaching the village, two other people, companions of the suspect, joined them and snatched Sadeeq’s car at gunpoint and fled.

A team traced the suspects and the vehicle, cash as well as a mobile phone stolen by them.

Mr Jawaad said the police busted another two-member gang of robbers who had stolen jewellery from a woman at gunpoint after breaking into her house near Sanjwal.

He said police recovered weapons from the suspects that were utilised by them in different crimes and sent them behind bars.
