School fee

Published June 6, 2021

I AM a student at a private school in Karachi. A number of private schools, including mine, have not reduced their fee despite several announcements by the Sindh government.

Irrespective of the pandemic and the consequent economic crunch in the country, schools charge full fee as it was in pre-Covid era. To make things worse, my school has recently charged even the annual fee.

There is almost no utility expenses for long as there are no physical classes taking place. As such, charging 100 per cent fee is not justified.

The Sindh government simply announces fee reduction, but does nothing to see if the orders are being actually carried out.

The new academic session will start soon, while the decision on having physical classes is yet to be taken. Will the relevant authorities look into the matter and ensure that the private schools are following the orders of the provincial government?
