GWADAR: An Australian ship carrying 21,000 tonnes of urea under the Afghan transit trade was anchored at Gwadar deep seaport on Sunday.
Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority retired Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa had announced last week that Gwadar port had become fully functional as big cargo ships had started arriving there.
Official sources said the cargo ships carrying import and export goods had started arriving at Gwadar port from different countries.
The Afghan transit trade had begun in 2020 and since then over a dozen ships brought thousands of urea bags through Gwadar port.
Officials of the Gwadar Port Authority welcomed Seaken-Mv from Australia and said ample job opportunities would be created for the local people as the port had become fully functional.
