KARACHI: A man was shot dead by a suspected robber near Safoora Goth on Monday.

Sachal SHO Abdul Rasool Siyal said Shahbaz, 35, along with his wife, left his in-laws’ house in a car when a lone robber signalled him to stop in Saadi Town. When he accelerated, the suspect opened fire, compelling him to stop the car.

The armed robber snatched gold from his wife and two mobile phones from the couple. Later on, he shot Shahbaz dead before fleeing along with the looted valuables.

The SHO claimed that the victim did not put up any resistance. The police were trying to find other possible motives for the murder.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfil legal formalities.
