Today’s wastage is tomorrow’s shortage

This is regarding the article “Today’s wastage is tomorrow’s shortage” by Laraib Faisal (YW, May 15).

The writer highlighted one of the main problems of our society that people hardly give attention to, which is wasting food and water. People should teach their children not to waste anything. I hope after reading this article, people will avoid wasting food and won’t leave food on the plates before they leave any gathering or parties. This article is remainder for all of us to avoid wasting food and to know the value of food.

I agree with Laraib Faisal’s views in her article “Today’s wastage is tomorrow’s shortage”. There are many problems that the world is facing today and one of the biggest problems is wasting food and water. Nobody gives a second thought to the leftovers in their plate whether at home or at any gathering. People have forgotten that there are millions of people who don’t get even one meal daily.

Through this platform, I want to urge all readers to always take a little quantity of food in your plate, you can add more if you want to rather than filling it at first. I hope the article will bring change in people’s habits and they will act positively.

Input and success

This is with reference to the article “Input and success” by Marium Ahmad (YW, May 15). The write-up was nice as it contained suggestions to attain success. Every individual needs to define their concept of success rather than following someone else’s footsteps. We must analyse what makes us happy, what gives us contentment and what motivates us.

More importantly, true success means understanding our dreams and working peacefully to make those dreams come true. To reach one’s goals and be successful, one must never give up, no matter how challenging life turns out to be.

Mums and us

This is regarding the article “Mums and us” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, May 8). I really enjoyed reading this article. The writer nicely put forth an issue that we, kids, should focus on ourselves rather than on how our mothers are treating or acting around us.

I personally think that Mother’s Day should not be treated as a big deal as we all love our mothers, and we should express this to her every day. Mothers help and guide us to the right path, they make us learn the importance of life and help us differentiate between good and bad. Our mother is an integral part of our lives.
