PESHAWAR: Awami National Party has expressed concern over the delay in issuance of 10th NFC award and asked the federal government to release the due financial share of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the earliest.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, ANP provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak accused the federal government of slashing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the federal budget and demanded of the government to stop injustices with the province.

He said the delay in issuance of NFC award was sheer violation of the Constitution, adding KP would be worst affected if any further delay was made in release of funds. He said the federal government did not mention in the budget when to clear the dues.

Mr Babak also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for not raising voice against the injustices with their province, saying the MNAs would be unable to face voters in case they did not play effective role for rights of the people.

He said it seemed as if launching of public welfare schemes was not the government’s priority as no plan had been announced for welfare of the poor.

The ANP leader said his party was fully determined to raise voice against the injustices at all available forums. He urged Pakhtuns to join hands for realising their due rights.
