ISLAMABAD: Three children died and two of their family members were injured when the roof of their house collapsed in the jurisdiction of Tarnol police early on Sunday.

The police identified the deceased as 10-year-old Kashif Ejaz, eight-year-old Saqib Ejaz and six-year-old Sohail Ejaz. The children’s father, Mohammad Ejaz, and his four-year-old daughter Ayesha were injured.

The deceased and injured were shifted to Pims.

Meanwhile, the body of an elderly person was recovered from Dhoke Paracha, in the jurisdiction of Tarnol police.

In Rawalpindi, a man and his three sons were injured when the roof of their house caved in during last night’s heavy rain in Shahen Town near the old airport.

Rescue services said Abdul Majeed, 50, and his three sons Zeeshan Majeed, 15, Habibur Rehman,16 and Shakeel, 14, were sleeping in their house when the roof of their room collapsed at 3:15am.

Rescue 1122 staff reached the scene and recovered the injured form the debris and shifted them to Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Abdul Majeed, who sustained head injuries, was stated to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death during a quarrel over a monetary dispute on Jamia Masjid Road in the Banni police area on Sunday.On receiving an emergency call, police reached the scene and found Sheryar alias Makri and Bilal and others quarreling with each other.

The police said Bilal was allegedly attacked with a knife and injured by his rival. Later, the alleged attacker escaped. The injured was shifted to the district headquarters hospital by Rescue 1122 where he was pronounced dead.

A 28-year-old man was killed and two other persons were injured after a mini-truck they were traveling in overturned near Tarnol.

The truck was heading towards Tarnol from Taxila. The accident left Shahid Maqsood dead and Mehboob Sultan, 50, and Ghaffar Ahmed, 30, injured.
