LAKKI MARWAT: Police on Sunday claimed to have solved a blind murder case and arrested two of the alleged killers in Ghoriwala area of Bannu district.

An official said that a party of Domel police had found three mutilated bodies along Kurram River in Sadakhel area on May 3. He said the bodies had been kept at a morgue in the DHQ hospital and then handed over to the TMA for burial.

Meanwhile, a resident Salam Khan reported that his two nephews and their friend had been missing since April 30, the official said, adding that the police exhumed the bodies in the presence of a judicial magistrate.

He said the victims were identified as Dost Mohammad, Mamtullah and Mohammad Ayaz by complainant Salam Khan.

He said that after medico-legal formalities the Domel police registered a case against unknown killers and began investigation. He said that a special team, headed by SP investigation Zia Hasan, was tasked to trace the killers.

The official said that the team succeeded to trace the killers. He said the police arrested two of the killers identified as Rafiullah and Mohammad Tahir and seized a pistol used in the crime.

He said the police also recovered empty bullet shells and collected evidence from the site of occurrence. He said they had intensified efforts to arrest the remaining two accused, including Amir and Inamullah.
