KOHAT: The district administration has ordered the members of the hairdressers’ association to vaccinate themselves against Covid-19 within 24 hours.
Additional assistant commissioner-III Mohammad Iqbal issued the directives during a meeting with the association’s members here on Wednesday.
During a visit of the hairdressers’ shops, he noticed that they were not observing the Covid-19-related standard operating procedures in their outlets.
He said he would check the record of vaccination of each hairdresser and take strict action against those not getting inoculations.
He also asked them to wear masks, keep sanitisers in their shops, and refuse haircuts of those who violated the SOPs.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION: SP investigations Syed Inayat Ali Shah has asked the members the dispute resolution council (DRC) of Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision to decide cases purely on merit.
He stated this during a meeting with DRC chairman Haji Malik Hidayatullah Khan on Wednesday. He asked for expediting the long-awaited cases.
Also in the day, people complained to Kohat deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman during a telephonic talk about poor sanitation, shortage of water, broken drain covers and presence of unnecessary speed-breakers on roads.
The deputy commissioner issued orders to the officials concerned to address these problems forthwith, according to a statement.
He also asked the people to contact him personally if they had any genuine grievance against any government official.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner said his office would soon set up a cell to check complaints against illegal land transfers and land grabbing.
Speaking to revenue officials on Wednesday, he warned the patwaris against committing any wrongdoing in land transfers.
Separately, officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed a shop for selling expired snacks on Wednesday.
They also imposed fine on the owners of two shops for selling adulterated milk.
Also, unidentified gunmen shot dead a young motorcyclist near Mangal Bibi on Wednesday.
The Saddar police said Dildar Hussain was going to home from the bazaar on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen opened fire at him. The body was shifted to the KDA Teaching Hospital.
An uncle of the deceased registered FIR against the unknown killers.
