KARACHI: The first International Abdul Nasir Memorial Basketball Tournament being organised by Firdaus Ittehad in collaboration with Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) will begin from Sunday at the Abdul Nasir Basketball courts in Arambagh.

Pakistan Sports Welfare Association president Shahida Parveen will be the chief guest while Shamsi Academy chairman Khalid Jameel Shamsi will preside at the inaugural ceremony.

According to KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, six teams from all over the city will feature in this tournament.

The participating teams are Omega Club, Bounce Club, Askari Club, Usman Club, Karachi Basketball Club, and Arambagh Basketball Club.

The teams have been divided into two groups while the event will be held on league basis. Assistant Commissioner Arambagh Mashal Naeem will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony on June 27.The event is being organised by KBBA on self help basis without the support of any sponsors.
