ISLAMABAD: The Saudi embassy won the Diplomatic Football League whose award distribution ceremony was held on Friday.

The top scorer award was given to Mubasher Sanjrani who scored 28 goals in 10 matches and the best player award went to Sultan from the Saudi team.

The Saudi embassy was declared crown champions of the league, the Arab Tent were in the second position while the Brazilian United got the third position.Ambassadors, diplomats, officials and businessmen were among the participants of the closing event.

A special award was also presented to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, which was received by Assistant Commissioner Aneel Saeed, for his best role during Covid-19, and another special award was presented to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan.Mubasher Sanjrani, the main organiser, said it is the only platform that provides a healthy activity and bring people from different parts of the world closer through the lovely game of football for a joyful time, especially for diplomatic community residing in Pakistan to show them the soft image of our country.

Teams from six embassies participated and represented more than 16 nationalities in the league.
