ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan values UK’s balanced role in global and regional affairs.

The army chief was talking to British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner who called on him on Friday, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations press release.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation, including recent developments in the Afghan peace process, and collaboration in the fight against Covid-19 were discussed.

The army chief said that Pakistan valued UK’s balanced role in global and regional affairs and “we look forward to optimise strategic potential of our relationship based on convergences”.

The visiting digni-tary acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and pledged to enhance relations between the two countries.
