PESHAWAR: Gusty winds lashed the provincial capital on Friday afternoon causing power outages across the city and its outskirts.
The Met department recorded the gusts up to 75 kilometres per hour with winds continuing to lash Peshawar for about an hour.
The Peshawar Electric Supply Company said a total of 94 feeders got tripped due to gusty winds, but majority of them had been repaired. However, it said restoration work on the remaining 39 feeders was underway.
The Met department said a shallow westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country and moist currents from Arabian Sea were also penetrating the central and upper parts of the country. It said dust-thunderstorm-rain was expected at scattered places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.
