Teacher beaten for ‘insulting student over homework’ in Toba Tek Singh

TOBA TEK SINGH: Seven people of Pirmahal village Chak 760-GB badly beat publicly on Friday a private schoolteacher of Sindhillianwali for insulting a sixth-grade student for his failure to do homework. Suspects also made torture footage and made it viral on social media.

The first information report registered by the Arrouti police under sections 341, 506, 148, 149, and 337 of the Pakistan Penal Code said when teacher Muhammad Wasim arrived at the school on Faisalabad-Multan Road, suspect Bahawal Khan and his six accomplices beat and injured him with sticks.

He told reporters that they uploaded the footage of torture on social media.

The police said suspects would be arrested.

SHOOTING: A farmer was killed and seven people, including two women, were injured seriously when over a farmland dispute their rivals opened indiscriminate firing on them in Mauza Ghumman Marri in Shorkot on Friday.

According to the Shorkot police, as a result of firing by Sikandar Hayat and his accomplices, Ghulam Mustafa died instantly while the injured including Ramzan, Murtaza, Saqlain, Noor Ahmad, Nawaz, Jaffar, Samina Bibi and Jannat Bibi were admitted to the Shorkot Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

MOTORWAY RATES: Deputy Commissioner Naveed Umer has taken serious notice of the complaints of motorists who experienced that service area marts located on motorways, M-3 and M-4 in Toba Tek Singh district were selling food and other items on high prices than the market.

He issued an order on Friday under the Punjab Food Stuff Control Act and under section 2 of federal government’s price control and hoarding Act 1977 in which he fixed rates of more than 200 items.

electrocuted: A man was electrocuted on Friday in Jamia mosque of Islampura locality of Kamalia.

Hafiz Raheel, 19, who was teaching Quran to the children in the same mosque was cleaning the mosque when his hand suddenly touched a live wire as a result he received a shock and died instantly.

Meanwhile, a man was electrocuted when he was repairing a live wire on a pole in Chak 323-JB, Trandi, on Thursday night.

Rescue 1122 pulled down his body from the pole.

Deceased Akram, 60, was hired by the local Faisalabad Electric Supply Company officials to help the linemen as Fesco had short of linemen staff.

Meanwhile, a youth died instantly when his motorcycle hit a broken tree during a heavy windstorm on Thursday night.

Najaf Abbas, 16, of Chak Dub Kalan, Jhang, was on his way on a link road to Adda Jalalpur Kamlana. In the meantime, a windstorm uprooted a tree that fell in front of him and his bike crashed into the tree.

He received serious injuries but could not be shifted to the hospital as the road was closed after uprooted trees had fallen on the road and he succumbed to his wounds on the spot.
