RAWALPINDI: A jeweller was robbed of Rs10 million by two armed men near Kamran Market in Saddar on Monday.

Moreover, a woman was gunned down in her house in Quaid-i-Azam Colony.

Police said Chaudhary Hammad was going to Faizabad after withdrawing Rs10 million from a bank in Saddar when his car was intercepted by two armed men riding a motorcycle near Mareer Chowk.

Though Mr Hammad was accompanied by a private security guard, he did not offer any resistance to the robbers who snatched the cash and fled.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 spokesman while quoting the family of the 30-year-old woman said she was a patient and was killed during a house robbery.

However, a police spokesman later said it was a murder case and registered an FIR on the complaint of her father.

He said forensic experts and police officials reached the house and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the killers, the spokesman said.
