LOADSHEDDING IN DADU: Since the beginning of the summer season, unannounced loadshedding has become a norm in Dadu. In some areas, power supply shuts down multiple times within a 24-hour cycle, affecting the lives of citizens badly. Students cannot study, patients suffer, business activities remain disrupted, and household chores cannot be planned. The relevant authorities should do the needful.

CORPORATE CULTURE: Corporate culture has a lot to offer to people other than empathy, sympathy and job security. Businesses and government departments in Pakistan often miss the main element of corporate culture; the wellbeing of employees that ensures their peace of mind. Nothing is more rewarding than enabling people to work in an inclusive environment, but the so-called pursuit of excellence creates a toxic environment which is unhealthy for employees mentally and physically.

A LOOMING THREAT: Global warming has been a known phenomenon since the 1960s. The earth is getting hotter and the sea level is rising. Since climate change affects every living being, the world needs to take collective and concrete steps to stem the tide. Our actions today will determine our future. The right steps will help us witness a positive change.

BATTERED ROAD: The road from Shershah to Pankha Hotel in Karachi is in a battered condition. It is an important road connecting a large community with critical areas, like Civil Hospital, Saddar, and other downtown vicinities. The road is broken and remains full of sludge owing to overflowing sewers that causes massive traffic jams. People are compelled to take alternative routes which are far lengthier and unable to absorb additional traffic. The road from Shershah to Pankha Hotel deserves the immediate attention of the relevant authorities.
