LAKKI MARWAT: A man killed his son and daughter-in-law during exchange of harsh words over son’s not offering prayers in Mela Shahabkhel area here on Thursday.

Police said that one Faridullah shot dead his son Wasifullah and his wife Kishwar.

They said the relatives and villagers shifted the bodies to government city hospital.

Landaan Bibi told Lakki Marwat police in her preliminary report that scolding of Wasifullah by his father Faridullah over not offering Zuhr prayer led to exchange of harsh words between them.

She said her husband Faridullah took out a pistol, fired at Wasifullah, killing him on the spot. Kishwar, wife of Wasifullah, also sustained bullet wounds and died instantly. Police said they registered a case against the accused and had started investigations.

Meanwhile, police on Thursday foiled a narcotics smuggling bid and arrested two persons near Manjiwala area of Lakki Marwat.

An official said a police party intercepted a car near Manjiwala police post and during checking seized four kilogrammes of hashish.

He said two persons identified as Ahmad Khan and Waseem were arrested.
