KARACHI: Former champion Faizan stormed into second Sindh Snooker Cup final of his career when he accounted for Ali Hamza 5-2 in the first semi-final of the ongoing 29th edition of the event at a local parlour on Saturday.

He will face the winner of second semi-final that was underway between Sultan Mohammad and Farrukh Usman at the time of filing this report.

The best-of-11 final will be played on Sunday at 10am.

Faizan, who won the title in 2015, lost two frames to post exciting 60-8, 56-50, 102-0, 54-63, 76-34, 43-51, 60-26 victory.

Earlier, Faizan carved out 5-1 victory over Hyderabad’s Taufiq Memon in the last-eight with scores being 0-1, 62-38, 55-43, 62-36, 78-13, 65-38.

Another Hyderabad player Umer Memon went down 3-5 to Ali Hamza in the quarters.

Umer had sneaked into the last eight defeating former champion Abdul Sattar 5-4 in the agonising pre quarter-final on Friday evening.
