MARDAN: Two persons were killed and six others injured in fire exchange between two groups over a petty issue of a dog injuring pigeons in Kattigari area of Katlang tehsil here on Tuesday.

Police said a slain woman identified as Shabina belonged to the group led by Shah Faisal while deceased Zafar Gul was from Gul Sher group.

They said that Shah Faisal, Hamad, Afaq and Samina were injured from one side and Faisal Iqbal and Gul Sher from the other.

The officials said both the rival parties were neighbours. He said that they first exchanged hot words and then opened firing on each other when the dog of Shah Faisal attacked and injured pigeons of Gul Sher’s son.

Both the groups have lodged FIRs against each other in Katlang police Station.
