KHUZDAR: The water level in Hub Dam has reached 335 feet due to heavy torrential rains in Darjeeling, Rohna, Shah Noorani and catchment areas of Hub River that flooded vast areas.

After filling the dam, water will be discharged from the spillway. The water level has reached just four feet short of the dam’s actual level.

Officials of the irrigation department said that rains were continuing and more flash floods were expected in the area. However, the spillway of the dam would be opened if water level reached the danger level and extra water would flow into the sea.

Residents of Usman Qalandrani Goth and Dadu Bandicha Goth have been asked to move to safe places immediately in view of the expected heavy flood.

Officials said that heavy machinery present in the dam area should be shifted as in case of opening the spillway the irrigation department would face heavy loss. The people have been asked to keep away from the dam area during the next three days.
