KARACHI: A 30-year-old man was found shot dead on the outskirts of the city on Saturday.

“An unidentified man with bullet wounds was found in bushes near Samandari Baba Road, Link Road, Steel Town,” said a police statement.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil legal formalities.

He was identified through the biometric system as Fazlur Rehman, said area SHO Mumtaz Marwat. The officer said that his permanent address was Al-Asif Square in Karachi while his current address was shown in Lasbela.

The police were trying to trace his relatives to ascertain the possible motive for the murder.

The SHO said that it appeared that he was kidnapped and killed somewhere else and later on his body was thrown in an abandoned area off the National Highway as no spent bullet casings were found at the crime scene.
