The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Rawalpindi has imposed fines amounting to Rs55,000 at different bus terminals on violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19, APP reports.

According to RTA spokesperson, the authority conducted raids at various bus terminals, checked implementation of the SOPs and imposed fines on people flouting rules.

Face masks were also distributed among the passengers, he added. Secretary RTA urged citizens to follow the SOPs and adopt all possible precautionary measures.
