TAXILA: Attock police have recovered a minor girl within 24 hours of her kidnapping and arrested two alleged kidnappers.

District Police Officer Rana Shoaib Mehmood told mediapersons on Friday that Fida Hussain, a native of Gullyal village and a vegetable vendor, reported to Jand police that his daughter Sana Bibi, 10, went to a nearby shop from where she was kidnapped by unknown persons who later demanded Rs200,000 for her release.

He said the area police traced the location of the kidnappers by utilising digital technology and recovered the girl safely during a raid led by Jand police SHO Mumtaz Khan on their hideout near a graveyard in Langar village.

He said the raiding team also arrested two alleged kidnappers identified as Mohammad Afzal and Abdul Khaliq and registered a case against them under section 365-A of Pakistan Penal Code.

The DPO appreciated the police team for swift action to recover the girl within 24 hours of filing of the report.

Meanwhile, Wah cantonment police arrested two alleged liquor suppliers and a motorcycle lifter and recovered liquor and three stolen motorcycles in separate actions.
