LAHORE: A youth was allegedly shot dead by his friends in the Mughalpura area here on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Abdullah, 18, and the suspects as Javed Butt, Hassan alias Lila and Imran alias Chand.

The deceased’s mother, Abida Fayyaz, told police that the suspects had come to her house on two motorcycles and took her son out with them. The suspects started beating Abdullah in a street over some dispute and later, they opened fire at him in her presence. Abdullah received two bullets in his head and died.

Mughalpura police registered a murder case on complaint of Abida against the suspects who had fled the scene shortly after committing the murder. They said the deceased and the suspects were recently released from jail and they were facing a murder case.

The police said the body had been shifted to morgue for autopsy.

In another incident, a retired official of a secret agency was found dead at his North Cantt residence.

A police official said Imtiaz Ahmad (65) was found dead with a bullet injury to his head. He said it seemed the deceased had committed suicide over some family issues. His body has been handed over to his family.
