Hyderabad well placed

KARACHI, Oct 30: Hyderabad were poised for victory after Islamabad set the hosts a modest target of 189 in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League fixture at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

By the stumps on the penultimate day, Hyderabad had 26 for one.

Earlier, Afaq Rahim completed a fighting century to help Islamabad make 241 in the second innings. Afaq, who scored 86 in the first innings, added to his overnight tally of 15. His 230-ball 115 included 12 boundaries.

Off-spinner Shoaib Leghari claimed six for 46.
