QUETTA: The Balochistan Fisheries Department has sacked 17 employees, including officers, on a charge of corruption.
A notification issued by the department on Thursday said that they were sacked after an investigation found them guilty of corruption and misconduct under Section 4 (1) (b) vii of the Balochistan Employees Talent and Discipline Act, 2011.
“These officers and employees were accused of extortion and irregularities, departmental proceedings and investigation were continuing from 2018,” the notification said. Provincial Secretary Fisheries Shahid Saleem, who signed the termination letters, said that further investigation on the allegations of corruption and misconduct against these sacked employees was going on.
The sacked employees include assistant director fisheries Abdul Razzaq, fisheries officers Abdul Wahid and Mohammad Younis, fisheries inspectors Noor Mohammad and Sabir Ali, assistant inspector Atta-ur-Rehman, boot engineer Elahi Bakhsh, Dad Rehman, Ali Akbar, Asif, Abdul Karim, Naveed. Haider Ali, Mohammad Shafiq, Ghulam Rasool and Mohammad Tariq.
