ISLAMABAD: The Covid-19 positivity rate in the capital surfed to 12.8pc on Monday with 394 more people diagnosed with the disease and six deaths reported in Rawalpindi district.
Officials of the capital administration said that a 2.1pc increase was seen in the positivity rate as on Sunday, the ratio of positive cases was 10.6pc. As many as 124 patients also reportedly recovered from the disease. A total of 3,076 tests were conducted which detected the virus among 210 men and 184 women.
With the increase in cases, usage of beds and ventilators allocated for infected people also increased in the capital. The utilisation of ventilators reached 38pc on Monday from 33pc reported on Sunday.
The utilisation of hospital beds also increased to 39.7pc from 39.1pc, the officials said, adding the number of active cases in the capital is 3,722. Out of the 394 cases, 80 are in the 30-39 age group, 78 each in 0-9 and 20-29, 48 in 40-49, 44 in 10-19, 29 in 50-59, 22 in 60-69, 13 in 70-79 and two in 80 and above.
As many as 29 cases were reported from G-10, followed by 23 each from Lohi Bher and Rawat, 19 from G-7, 18 from F-6, 17 from I-10, 14 from G-11, 13 from Koral, 12 each from G-9 and Tarlai, 11 each from F-8 and F-7, nine each from Bhara Kahu and G-5, eight each from G-6 and Alipur, seven each from G-15 and Kurri, six each from I-8, E-11 and G-8, five each from Khanna and Chak Shahzad, four F-11, three each from Kirpa and H-9, two each from F-10, Sohan, Rawal Town, F-5, and Sihala, and one each from I-9, Chirrah, D-12, I-14, Jhangi Syedan, B-17, D-17, Tarnol, G-12, Phulgran, and E-9. Addresses of 81 patients are not known, they added.
APP adds: 91 people were diagnosed with the virus in Rawalpindi district during the last 24 hours and the positivity rate was 8.6pc. As per the latest data released by District Health Authority, the total infected cases include 29,441 from Rawalpindi and 2,275 from other districts. Among the new cases, 33 were reported from Rawal Town, 18 from Potohar town, 16 from Rawalpindi cantonment, five from Gujar Khan, four from Taxila, five from Islamabad, two from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and three from Attock.
“Presently, 178 confirmed patients are admitted to various city facilities including 35 to Holy Family Hospital, 25 to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 56 to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, 50 to Fauji Foundation Hospital, three each to Begum Akhtar Memorial Trust and Attock Hospital while two each were admitted to Hearts International, District Headquarters and Bilal hospital,” the report said.
