TAXILA: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said Attock district is like his second home and a major package for its development will be announced soon.
He was addressing a gathering of area people after visiting the shrine of Hazrat Khawaja Amir Ahmad Chishti in Basal Sharif where he laid a wreath on the shrine and offered fateha.
He said his family had a centuries-old relationship with Basal. The people of his area come from Mount Sulaiman to visit the shrine of Khawaja Amir Ahmad Chishti.
The chief minister said Rs360 billion had been allocated for development of all the districts in the province this year, adding that a new era of development had begun and therefore was visiting every district, tehsil and village in this regard.

Mr Buzdar said he was making efforts to provide all facilities to people of villages in the province.
Earlier, MNA retired Major Tahir Sadiq welcomed the chief minister and demanded the Punjab government to declare Basal a model village by ensuring provision of water supply, maintenance of roads, upgradation of the Darbar and schools, establishment of a university in the name of Khawaja Amir Ahmed and sports stadium besides supply of gas.
The parliamentarians and notables from the area also held a meeting with Mr Buzdar and briefed him about the area’s problems.
The chief minister assured the people that all basic facilities would be provided to them in Basal on priority.
The parliamentarians congratulated the chief minister over Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s success in PP-38 and appreciated his vision of development packages for districts.
Mr Buzdar on this occasion also advised the opposition to shun negative politics and give priority to issues of national interest. He said that projects worth billions of rupees would be started for development of Attock while Sehat Insaaf Card programme had been launched in the district.
He said the mother and child hospital was being constructed while latest equipment would be provided to the DHQ Hospital, Attock, and THQ hospitals of Hazro, Fatehjang, Hassanabdal, Jand and Pindigheb.
During his visit, the chief minister was also accompanied by provincial ministers retired Col Malik Mohammad Anwar and Yawar Abbas Bukhari, PTI leader Khurram Ali Khan, Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah and other officials.
