PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party has terminated membership of two of its senior members in Swabi district for violating the party’s discipline.

According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, show-cause notices had already been issued to Taufeeq Khan and Shahid Hamza on June 23, seeking their replies within three days, but they avoided clarifying their position.

The party’s provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak on behalf of provincial president Aimal Wali Khan announced that the two people had been expelled from the party. It was stated that they were found creating groupings in the party and misunderstanding among workers.

The decision, it said, had been taken after fulfillment of the requirements as per the ANP constitution.

The statement said that all members of the party were bound to follow the discipline.
