What if the sun vanished?

This is regarding the article “What if the sun vanished?” by Aimen Zehra (YW, July 3). The article was about the importance of the sun for all living things on earth. The sun is one of the most vital sources of life and nourishment, without which nothing would grow. We humans never think about the significance of these vital things in our life.

In my opinion, we should not curse the heat of the sun even when it is too hot, instead we should thank God for having all the seasons in our part of the world. There are many regions around the world with no moderate season, where it remains cold and damp most of the year, so they do not enjoy the pleasure of the sun.

Hello kids

This is with reference to the website review, “Hello Kids” by Asif Ali (YW, June 19). The review was interesting so I visited the website and found marvellous stuff. The site was full of varied content that can interest young, as well as older kids such as colouring pages, arts and crafts, interesting short stories, online games, etc.

Thus, at times like this when we have nothing special to do during the holidays, we can find useful content on sites like this and spend our time learning new things rather than wasting time on doing nothing.

An Eid to remember

This is regarding the story “An Eid to remember” by Rosheen Fatima (YW, July 17). The story was entertaining and had an important message for all those kids and adults, who knowingly or unknowingly hurt their sacrificial animals.

These kids or adults enjoy seeing their animal’s reaction as they tease. It is also sometimes done to feel supremacy over the innocent creatures. However, during all this time, what one forgets is that animals also feel pain, and that they deserve love and respect.

Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) teaches us to be kind to animals, as he himself showed love and kindness towards animals. So, be kind and give love to all the animals, especially the sacrificial animals.

Book reviews

This is regarding the section “Book reviews”. I like all the sections in the YW magazine. Every section is interesting and has its own flare. However, book reviews miss the most important thing, which is the place from where one can buy the book. I would appreciate it if the reviewer mentions the bookshop from where that book can be bought.
