KARACHI: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Agriculture Manzoor Hussain Wassan has predicted that Prime Minister Imran Khan is very likely to be forced to call early general elections in August next year.

“The political situation in the country will change by August next year,” he said while talking to media personnel here on Saturday. “Many people will quit the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) to join other parties before the general elections,” he added.

Mr Wassan went on to predict that ministers like Sheikh Rashid would also join some other parties, and argued that “they need to stay in power and won’t like to stay with opposition.”

He felt that Mr Khan would institute cases against his own people and whoever would speak against him would be trapped.

“Differences will also crop up between the PM and the establishment in near future,” he said, adding that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, a young politician, would become the next prime minister.
