RAWALPINDI: Five people died while three others were injured when their wagon crashed into a dumper parked along Chak Beli Khan Road in Rawat area on Saturday.

According to the police, wagon driver Mohammad Rizwan and the three-year-old son of a teacher were among those killed in the accident.

A wagon carrying teachers from Government Primary School Jargi was travelling from Chak Beli to Rawalpindi when the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle from the wrong side and crashed into a truck parked along the roadside owing to tyre failure.

Those who died in the accident were Rizwan, 34, Quratul Ain, 28, Ms Nazrana, 28, Nayla, 30, and her son Hadi. While Ms Rafia, 25, Tahira Batool, 37 and Uqba Qadeer, 32 sustained multiple injuries. The injured are in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a car near Ammar Chowk on Friday.
