LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested two alleged members of banned organisation Al-Qaeda at Jallo Pind.

The team raided after credible information and arrested Abdul Manan and Imran Akhtar, a spokesperson for the Punjab CTD said here on Tuesday.

He said the militants were planning to attack law enforcement agencies and Shias during Muharam in Lahore.

The CTD recovered from them 1,650g explosive material, prima card, detonator, safety fuse, a 30-bore pistol 3 and ammunition. An FIR was launched for further investigation, the Punjab CTD spokesperson said.
