PESHAWAR: The city district administration on Tuesday notified the 9th and 10th of Muharram as holidays for all commercial activities in the provincial capital.

A notification issued from the deputy commissioner’s office stated that all types of commercial activities, establishments and markets in the provincial capital were already observing two consecutive holidays in a week in light of the government’s directions to contain the fourth wave of Covid-19.

The notification said since Ashura was falling on August 18 and 19, and both days were observed as holidays, therefore, Wednesday and Thursday would be observed as holidays in the provincial capital for commercial activities.
