MUZAFFARGARH: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped on her way back home from school here on Friday at Dera Din Pannah near Kot Addu.

Reports said class IV student (A) was on her way back home from school when a suspect took her to fields and allegedly raped her. The girl told her family about the incident. The family approached the police. The medical examination confirmed the rape.

On the direction of District Police Officer Mohammad Hassan Iqbal, a special team of gender crime scene reached the spot and took fingers print and started geofencing and took the suspect into custody who confessed to raping the girl. Police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident and ordered the regional police officer to look into the matter.

RPO Mohammad Faisal Rana visited Dera Din Pannah and met with the victim’s parents.

The suspect was shifted to some unknown place for investigation.

RECRUITMENT: Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Asadullah has said that as per the direction of the Punjab government, recruitment process has been started for 113 vacant posts of patwaris in Muzaffargarh district for which 5,765 candidates have submitted applications after scrutiny of papers.

The lists of eligible candidates have been affixed in the offices of the respective assistant commissioners.

Mr Asadullah said if any candidate has any objection to the list or his name is not included, then a committee, headed by Deputy Commissioner Amjad Shoaib Khan, would address the complaints.

There will be a written and typing test for the eligible candidates. The written examination of the candidates of Jatoi Tehsil will be held at Government Girls College, the Muzaffargarh candidates will appear in technical college and people from Kot Addu Tehsil at Quaid-i-Azam college.

The exam date will be announced after the release of the final list.
