HARIPUR: Two persons, including a teenager, allegedly committed suicide here on Sunday.

Police said that the first suicide incident was reported from Hasan Pur village of Ghazi tehsil where Atif Qamar 18, allegedly shot himself dead after his father scolded him over smoking. He died instantly, police and eyewitnesses said.

The second alleged suicide of the day was reported in Changi Bandi village. Sera-i-Saleh police quoted Aurangzeb as saying that his son Hafeez Khan, 32, a married man, was a worker in a biscuit factory at Hattar Industrial Estate.

On Sunday morning, he left home for his duty after breakfast. Mr Aurangzeb stated that after half an hour some villagers informed him that the body of Hafeez was lying near Mohallah Zareenabad.

The complainant and police said that the cause of the death was a single shot that he received in the head and a 30-bore pistol was also lying near the body.

The complainant said that he or his son had no enmity with anyone.
