PESHAWAR: Some teachers of the Bacha Khan University Charsadda have alleged anomalies in the faculty recruitment by their university and demanded a government probe into them.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, a group of teachers led by Dr Imran Khan and Dr Rahimullah said the university’s administration didn’t follow the relevant rules and regulations while filling the posts of professors, associate professors and assistant professors.

They said they had undeniable evidence of recruitment irregularities and would produce them if the government formed an investigation body.

The teachers said PhD was the required qualification for those positions but MPhil degree holders were appointed to English and Geology departments.

They also claimed that some members of the selection board applied for posts and were allowed to sit in the board meeting as well in violation of the university rules.

The teachers named several teachers, who attended the board meeting.

They said they firmly believed that the process of the teachers’ selection was illegal, so the provincial government should order an inquiry into it for action against the relevant people.
