LAHORE: The Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championships on Tuesday entered the quarter-finals stage as matches of different age groups were held here at the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association courts.

Asad Zaman stunned Hassan Ali 8-3 while promising Abdul Hanan Khan thrashed Zain Saeed 8-0, Bilal Asim outclassed Zahra Suleman 8-0, Faizan Fayyaz overwhelmed Muneeb Majeed 8-0 and Ahtesham Arif beat Abubakar Khalil 8-4.

In the U-14 pre-quarterfinals, Asad Zaman outpaced Aleena Suleman 8-1, Omer Jawad trounced Abdur Rehman 8-1, Hashir Alam overcame Ismail Aftab 8-4, Shehryar Anees beat Abubakar Khalil 8-1, Raja Mustafa recorded a 8-1 victory against Harris Bajwa and Ahtesham Humayun def­e­­­ated M. Sohaan Noor 8-2.

Meanwhile in the U-12 pre-quarterfinals, Harris Bajwa ousted Inam Bari 8-3, Hajra defeated Afaf Sule­man 8-2 and Abdullah Sajjad Wahla trounced Fajar Fayyaz 8-2.
