LARKANA, Nov 3: The Qambar police on Thursday was clueless about whereabouts of two kidnapped women, Ms Shumal and Suhagan Chandio. On Wednesday, in an encounter between police and bandits in the mountainous belt of Gaibidero one policeman was killed and two others including an ASI were injured.

The bandits had kidnapped Ismael, Punhal and Ms Shamul Chandio.

Sources saids that a girl identified as Suhagin was also kidnapped by the bandits and now Ms Shamul and Ms Suhagin were in the captivity of dacoits who had reportedly skipped towards Balochistan.

Saifal Chandio, brother of kidnapped victim Punhal registered an FIR against Ahmed Bakhsh, Ali Jan, Ali Khan, Khan Mohammed, Ghulam Umar Gaincho, Wazeer Gaincho, Babbo Chandio and three persons with Gaibidero police station.

Malik Gaibi Khan Chandio, president PPP Qambar refuting police allegations said that they were being implicated in the case. The matter that could have been resolved privately was made issue.

Nawabzada Shahnawaz Khan Chandio, former nazim of union council Gaibidero told reporters that the accused and complainant parties in the case were cousins.

They were at daggers drawn with each other over the issue of giving permission to their womenfolk for visiting their parents.

He said Baboo Chandio and Tohal Chandio were his employees and police was allegedly involving them in the case.

The DIG Larkana had a meeting of police officers in Qambar on Thursday and special teams were constituted to trace out the kidnappers after Eid.

Sardar Khan Chandio, the taluka nazim Qambar, talking to Dawn on Thursday said that police force was badly needed to maintain law and order situation in the mountainous belt.

He claimed that one of the kidnappers was injured and was removed by his companions as blood traces were found in the area.

He said that after the 81’s operation no law enforcing agencies had dared to go into the area.

He said that Khan Mohamemd Chandio and Ali Khan Chandio were with Shahnawaz Chandio former nazim of Gaibidero union council and should be handed over to police.
