LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Friday allowed police to shift two suspects to jail for their identification parade in the case of sexual harassment of a girl riding a motorcycle-rickshaw during the Independence Day celebrations.

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of police produced the suspects before a magistrate and sought permission to shift them to jail for identification parade.

The magistrate sent the suspects to jail for six days and directed the police to conduct the identification parade under strict security.

The CIA had arrested the suspects from Sheikhupura and Jaranwala.

The suspects, along with other accomplices, had come to Lahore on the eve of the Independence Day.

However, the key suspect, who jumped onto the moving rickshaw and forcibly kissed the girl, was still at large.

The suspects were identified through the video clips and the the Safe City Authority CCTV cameras’ footage.

The government had ordered the police to arrest the suspects after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
