FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four suspects for their alleged involvement in child pornography and sexual offenses through a mobile phone application.

As per the FIA officials, the arrests were made following the complaint lodged with the agency by a man, Sanwal, of Mehmoodabad, who said the four suspects had developed relations with each other through a mobile phone application and they also contacted him to lure him into their activities, adding that they would be meeting near the Kashmir Bridge on Canal Road.

Following the information, FIA formed a team that arrested the four suspects – Asad, Tanveer, Usman and Umair. During search the raiding team found the app installed on their mobile phones, besides objectionable material.

FIA Deputy Director Muhammad Rizwan told the media that the agency had been informed that a website was working where objectionable videos of children as well as adults were being uploaded.

He said the arrested suspects were involved in the child pornography and sexual offences and their cell phones had been seized as an evidence.

He said people using this app belonged to different areas of Pakistan, who would share their objectionable material with each other.

Investigation had been launched into the scam and other offenders would also be arrested soon, he added.
