ISLAMABAD: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables worth millions of rupees in the capital.

Police said five armed men entered the house of Shafqat Ali in G-14/4 and looted cash and valuables worth Rs1 million. Likewise, cash and valuables worth Rs900,000 were looted from another house in D-12/4.

Sofia Nasim told the police that four persons armed with weapons raided her house and took away cash and valuables. In another incident, robbers looted Rs53,000 from the house of Shahzaib in G-9/3.

Gold ornaments worth Rs400,000 were also looted from a couple. Shahroz Ali and his wife embarked on a wagon on Islamabad Highway at Loi Bher. Three persons who were travelling in the vehicle held them at gunpoint and snatched the ornaments from the woman.
