LAHORE, Nov 3: Finely bred three-year-old bay colt, Swing, looks the best bet of the day when the 10th Lahore Winter Meeting gets under way at the Lahore Racecourse here on Sunday.

Contesting in the feature and fifth event of the card, the Mianwali Cup to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres the son of Stranger In Paradise out-of-Rosina Folly, Swing was slow to come out of the gates in his previous outing on Sunday last and ran off the frame.

At the starting gates, his original rider, Shahid Rehman was replaced by a dullish looking rider, M. Zeeshan, and the colt did not like his handling and was slow to move out.

With his original rider on board, he should make amends and triumph in the feature event, a class V division I handicap race.

The colt is owned by Mian Mahir Ahmad and trained by A. B. Malik.

His closest rivals should be Unter and Silver Queen. This is a class V division handicap race. The supporting and sixth event, the Mianwali Plate Class V Division II to be contested over 1000m has eleven runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

This is a race full of good sprinters and may end in a thrilling finish between Well Minister, Mera Chandiwala, King Sound, All At Sea and Scarlet Empress.

But the handicap and distance goes in favour of Scarlet Princess and All At Sea.

May May and My Love look good in the fourth race.

Both have a couple of good finishes to their credit. Scooby, Dancing Star, Shaba Queen and Golden Faith are the pick of the nine runners drawn for the third race.

On form Dancing Star looks best but on handicap and pedigree Scooby matches equally. Dam Dama Dam, Jago, Aishwarya and Top Figure matter most in the second race.

With a good lad up Top Figure should excel the others.

The opener looks a match between Black Leopard and Kosay Kaza.

Black Leopard may swallow Kosay Kaza to make amends this time or be may fall a victim to Kosay Kaza, if the latter produces a good run.

A card of six events will be decided in the post Eid-ul-Fitr race meeting on Sunday, the first to start at 3pm.

Three races will be held in daylight and three under floodlights.

Meanwhile the Lahore Race Club (LRC) has notified that riding boys may not be entitled for an allowance of three pounds in Class I, II, III and IV races henceforth.

They will ride on their mounts carrying the same weight published in the race card.
