KARACHI: The Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza, attended a briefing session about war game Shamsheer-i-Bahr VIII at Pakistan Naval Ship Base Jauhar on Wednesday.

The CJCSC was given a detailed briefing on the aim and objectives of the exercise. The exercise was aimed at the tri-services’ operational drills and manoeuvres against traditional and non-traditional threats with emphasis on improving synergy in operations at sea in a diverse maritime environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen Raza highlighted the importance of war games in reviewing military strategy and refining its alignment with national security threats while exploring new concepts.

He asserted that the exercise will promote coordination and greater interoperability amongst all services, offsetting any physical threat to territorial integrity. He praised the participants and appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Navy in conducting the exercise in a befitting manner.

Upon arrival the CJCSC was received by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammed Amjad Khan Niazi.
