PESHAWAR: Dengue infected 59 more people across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday taking the total number to 248.

A report presented to chief secretary Dr Kazim Niaz on Monday revealed that dengue virus had shown its presence in 19 districts of the province. Of the 59 confirmed cases, 10 patients were admitted to different hospitals.

It said that screening of 2,828 people had so far been conducted.

The report said Bajaur had 13 patients, Battagram five, Buner seven; 151 patients were reported from Meri Khel and Mittha Khel areas of Khyber district, 19 from Mansehra, two from Mardan, 18 from Haripur, one each from Hangu, Abbottabad, Bannu and Mohmand, two each from Swabi and Swat, and 11 cases were reported

from Sufaid Dheri, Danish Abad, Canal Road and Baghbanan areas of Peshawar.
