MANSEHRA: The Kolai-Palas police have arrested a man for promoting sectarianism on social media.

DPO Salman Khan told reporters on Tuesday that Mohammad Farooq was taken into custody for using his cousin’s mobile phone to upload hate material on social media.

“We investigated Mohammad Farooq, who confessed to uploading sectarian material on his fake Facebook account from the mobile phone of constable Abdul Qudus, who is his cousin,” he said.

The DPO said the matter had been referred to the relevant FIA assistant director for further investigation.

Meanwhile, a worker died after getting stuck in a construction material mixing machine in Sobrian area of Balakot tehsil.

The body of Mohammad Azhar was handed over to his family after examination by the doctors of the civil hospital as a legal formality.

LEOPARD ATTACK: The wildlife department has dispatched separate teams to Garhi Habibullah area to capture a leopard, which killed cattle and goats in Jabri Kaleesh area.

“Our teams have gone to the area, where the wildcat killed animals and dogs, and the one, where it came down from,” divisional wildlife officer Taimur Shah told reporters here on Tuesday.

He said the department had installed special cameras in Jabri Kaleesh area to trace the wildcat mobility before fixing cages there to capture it.

Meanwhile, a group of doctors organised a free medical camp in Darband on Tuesday for dengue patients.

Dr Adil Zahir told reporters at the camp that he and two other doctors examined around 350 patients and almost 50 percent of them suffered from dengue.

He said the patients were provided with free medicines and testing facility.

The doctor said another free medical camp would be organised if the need arose.
